Like league championship rings in baseball, AFC and NFC Championship rings represent the second level of pro sports titles. Football fans and collectors are extremely focused on collecting team memorabilia and conference championship rings are on many of the upper level want lists. Far more affordable and more available than Super Bowl rings or the old NFL Championship rings, NFC and AFC Championship rings for sale are an attractive target…when they’re offered.
The AFC-NFC merger in 1970 created a need to honor the conference champions in each league. Emerging as one of the two best teams in pro football is clearly a reason to celebrate and teams are usually willing to commemorate a successful season with a ring.
Salesman’s samples of pro football league championship rings for sale can be found on eBay quite regularly, almost always representing a star player. A 1974 Minnesota Vikings salesman’s sample NFC title ring was recently offered on eBay for around $2500.
By contrast, an authentic 1989 Denver Broncos’ player’s AFC Championship ring was offered at nearly $9,000.
Like most rings, the value depends on the player’s name that’s engraved inside. A star’s name, even on a salesman’s sample ring, will inflate the value. Players often find it difficult to let go of such a special piece of pro sports jewelry because of what it represents. However, they’re not held in quite as much esteem as a Super Bowl ring for obvious reasons.
AFC and NFC Championship rings for sale sometimes carry the league logo surrounded by diamonds. Or, they can be designed with a team-oriented touch. You can find authentic rings occasionally on eBay but expect stiff competition. Purchasing replicas of the real deal isn’t a bad alternative.
