Although being plagued by an 86-year championship drought, the Boston Red Sox still have seven World Series titles. Two of which have came in the last eight years alone. The earliest Red Sox championship rings are very hard to come by (1903, 1912, 1915, 1916 and 1918) but the 2004 and 2007 rings and their replicas are selling on eBay as you read this.
The 2004 championship was actually a quite remarkable one. First of all, the Red Sox ended the New York Yankees American League East domination by winning the division title. Then, after being down 3-0 in the ALCS against their archrival Yankees, Boston staged an unprecedented comeback and beat the Yankees in 7. They would eventually go on to sweep the Cardinals in four games that officially ended their 86-year curse (supposedly left on them after the sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees).
To make the story even better, their next championship would only come three years later in 2007, following the acquisition of Daisuke Matsuzaka, also known as Dice-K, the Japanese superstar pitcher. Boston also swept the Colorado Rockies in this matchup to land them their seventh Red Sox championship ring.
A 2004 Red Sox ring on eBay, claiming to be an original by pitching coach Tony Cloninger Sr. and is even accommodated by a Letter of Authenticity, is listed for $38,750 (Buy Now price). It is 18K Gold with a raised “B” on a baseball diamond sits on top with blue stone. The face adorned by diamonds. The ring comes in its original box.
The 2004 and 2007 replica Red Sox championship rings are selling on eBay between $20-$81. The 2007 replica is cast in a rhodium finish and QZ diamonds. It was molded as an exact replica of the rings given to the players and coaches. The 2004 Red Sox is similar in finish with shiny grooved sots that appear like diamonds.
