Here’s a sampling of championship rings selling prices. Most of these were sold via major sports internet auctions over the past five years. Several factors will weigh into the realized price:
- Quality of the ring (those presented to players and coaches were not always the same as what front office staff members or other team employees got)
- Wear (like baseball cards, those rings that have significant wear will sell for less money)
- Who owned it (star or superstar rings sell for more money than a lesser player and a lot more than most non-field employees
- Popularity (rings from iconic teams sell for more than others)
Other factors such as auction marketing can impact selling prices just as they would for any other collectible. Of course, authentic rings sell for more than salesman’s sample rings or replicas, although older replicas that are in limited quantity and represent a well-known figure, can sell for thousands of dollars.
We’ve indicated the type of ring, original owner and any noted wear when known.
